Originally, Aloud planned on naming their fourth LP “The Modern World Is Rubbish.” The Boston based indie band stopped by the WGTB studio on April 26th as part of their “It’s Got To Be Now Tour” behind the album of the same name. In an era of isolation and disconnection thanks to modern media, Aloud wants to stand as a force for unity.
Recording an LP full of reflective and 60s reminiscent rock and roll songs, Aloud remind us of the simple potency of a rock and roll band. The urgency of their record captures the sound of four people trying to be heard in the drone of sounds of our modern world. Aloud also served as a great reminder that interviews can go to any one of a number of entertaining and poignant places. Over the brief yet substantial in-studio session, Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain talked about everything from mortality and The Zombies to Kickstarter and Tumblr culture. And for the die-hard Aloud fans, we finally answer the question “Who is Emily Jane?”
